I completed my Yoga Teacher Training in 2019 with Cat Alip Douglas and Phil Douglas at Sangyé Yoga School in London. I am so grateful to Cat and Phil for diligently guiding and preparing me (and so many other yoga teachers) for the world of teaching. Since then, I have continued a path of self-study and practice—particularly focusing on the path of Bhakti Yoga as well as all 8 limbs of the traditional Yoga practice. My journey has deepened my understanding of yoga's holistic approach, integrating philosophy, ethics, and physical practice.
In 2021, acknowledging the deep impact of the Pandemic and how the practice had supported my well-being, I founded WYKD (Westway Yoga Kolektiv Dāna) with friends and fellow teachers Keri and Rob. Yoga in the city is often too expensive for many and can have a feeling of “exclusivity”. We wanted to created a school that offered daily free classes in an inviting community atmosphere. WYKD classes combine Asāna with traditional teachings offering students the opportunity to delve deep and also challenge themselves. We also run Meditation & Pranayama classes, Afrikan Yoga as well as specialist workshops.
We host daily classes with an excellently trained, incredible diverse team of teachers in various locations-mostly at our spiritual home Bay 20 Community Centre as well as classes at some of London’s best loved Yoga Studios
My classes are best described as "Bhakti-Vinyāsa," blending strong, flowing Vinyāsa sequences with the devotional aspect of Bhakti. Classes are centred around a monthly theme, integrating traditional teachings like the Yoga Sutras or Shastra providing students with focal points for Svādyāya (self-study)
This approach helps supports an inward journey, creating a deeper connection to the practice on and off the mat. I use music to assist participants in carrying the energy and “flow’ of the class. This helps in facilitating a feeling of seamlessness (as well as playfulness!) throughout transitions to create a fully immersive experience.
These are open classes so there will be options for both new and seasoned practitioners
